I've always been particularly interested in fictional magic across genres. Fantasy stories like The Lord of The Rings superhero media like Marvel movies drew me closer to admiration for the supernatural. It's impressive to see how creative authors, producers, and directors formulate explanations for magic and built stories in magical fictional worlds.

One area I have not had as much exposure to is historical magic and witchcraft in the real world. This is what I am hoping to get out of this class--a connection between the creativity I've seen in fictional works and the deeply rooted history of witches and witchcraft--both good and bad.
